Lafarge Prestia solves many technical problems,
such as...

  • surface scratches: plasters with impurities (iron oxides, hard particles) makes gritty materials and scratches.
  • lumps too fine: plasters will create lumps during paste preparation.Manual application
  • inconsistency: inconsistency of plaster setting time will disturb the organization of the applicators on sites and create problems.
  • difficult mixing: plaster badly protected from moisture will have set plasters lumps that will bring difficult mixing conditions.
  • too fast drying: plaster that dries too fast will affect the working conditions (finishing).
  • cracks: plaster that expands or shrinks too much will make cracks on surface, as well as a lack of strength.

Those problems put the professional finishing of the construction sites at risk and increase the building materials cost a lot (bigger products waste, bigger plaster consumption because of shorter setting time, etc…). That' s where Lafarge Prestia wants to help!

  • Use clean water, tools and bucket to avoid any dry residue in the paste.

StorageOur warehouse

  • Bags must be kept dry in a closed room and must be stored so as to avoid direct contact with the ground, protected from moisture and condensation.
  • It is recommended that product be used within 6 months of manufacturing date.
  • First In First Out (FIFO) stock management is highly advisable, of course.

Notes about plaster coatings

Manual mixingMixing operation (Manual Plaster)

  • Pour gradually the powder into the water
  • Let the product soak 2 – 3 minutes
  • Mix to get a homogenous paste
  • Let it rest for around 5 minutes
  • Mix again gently until the paste is thick enough to be applied

Projection (Spray Plaster)

  • Adjust plastering machine to get a mortar non running on surface

Levelling

  • Immediately after mixing or spraying, level off with a metal ruler to achieve the required thickness.

Trimming

  • As soon as plaster begins to harden, smooth the surface with a metal trowel

Finishing

  • As soon as trowel does not create anymore bubbles scour the surface with a well-wet sponge to work out the "plaster milk".
  • Use the "plaster milk" to achieve a smooth surface.
